Drawn by the allure of Chinese architecture, I decided to leave my home country and pursue my studies in China. My journey began in December 2022 when I arrived in Nanjing, a city rich in history and culture.

Nanjing's blend of ancient and modern architecture left a lasting impression on me. The city's historic buildings, standing tall and serene, tell the stories of its past, while the rise of modern structures reflects its growth and vitality. Southeast University, where I study, is a beautiful campus. Each season transforms the landscape into a living painting, making every moment on campus feel like an aesthetic experience.

While the language and cultural differences initially posed challenges, I was fortunate to receive help from my teachers and fellow students. In this diverse learning environment, I realized that education is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about personal growth.

In 2023, I had the opportunity to participate in a field study organized by the School of Architecture. I traveled with nine other students to Puxi village in Fujian province to explore its architectural beauty. Our professor guided us through ancient courtyards, where we learned through hands-on experience, merging theoretical knowledge with real-world practice. The detailed surveying and mapping work we completed deepened my understanding of how architecture is intricately connected to nature and culture.

The Fujian trip ignited my passion for exploring China and cross-cultural exchange. During the summer of 2023, I joined a social practice team with students from the United States, Russia, Pakistan, and China. We observed automated systems with advanced quality control, which reduced human error and minimized material waste.

Through these experiences, I have come to love the study of architecture and the opportunity to walk through and explore China, discovering its many facets. This journey has been one of learning, growth, and cross-cultural exchange—an experience I will cherish forever.
