On Oct 11, in anticipation of the 35th International Day for Disaster Reduction, 10 international students from Nantong Vocational University partook in a safety training session in Nantong alongside local youth from Zhongxiu sub-district, Chongchuan district.

The event was designed to bolster their disaster response capabilities and promote knowledge of disaster prevention and mitigation.

Educational videos on fire safety and sharing real-life cases of major fire incidents were shown to raise safety awareness among participants. At the interactive experience zone, participants witnessed how fire alarm systems operate by integrating sound, light, and electricity.

During the event, both international students and local youth actively participated in practical activities such as operating one-touch alarm systems, assembling firefighting hoses, and engaging in safety quizzes. A student from Laos expressed, "This event opened my eyes and taught me valuable knowledge on disaster prevention."
