Soochow University celebrates international week with diverse cultural activities

On Oct 13, Soochow University hosted its International Week, a vibrant event featuring an international education exhibition, cultural showcase, food fair, and international carnival.

The international education exhibition highlighted 15 overseas partner schools and institutions, providing students with direct access to information and opportunities to study abroad.

The event also featured interactive cultural games, including a stamp collection challenge, trivia contests, riddle-solving activities, and a cultural treasure hunt, greatly increasing engagement among participants.

The cultural showcase included 19 booths representing various countries, allowing attendees to savor exotic food, enjoy artisan displays and traditional clothing fashion shows.

Ten outstanding students from countries such as Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Korea, and Laos were appointed as the first international student ambassadors for the university, tasked with promoting the school's academic achievements, development initiatives, and open, inclusive campus culture.

Notable guests, including Tiziana Loppiello, president of the University of Venice, and Chongrak Wachrinrat, executive president of Kasetsart University in Thailand, expressed their enthusiasm for the long-standing cooperation between their institutions. They look forward to leveraging their respective strengths to embrace multiculturalism and foster innovative developments in education.
