Jiangsu hosts job fair for international students from countries along Belt and Road

On Nov 1, Jiangsu held a job fair for international students from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative at Wuxi University.
A total of 68 overseas-operating Jiangsu-based companies participated, offering 2,623 jobs in industries such as machinery, electronics, software, textiles, finance, trade, and management. Many roles, like Spanish translators and factory managers, were tailored specifically to international students. Nearly 500 international students from 49 universities across Jiangsu attended the event.

Meng Limin, general manager of Jiangsu Fanye Electric Power and Energy Equipment, highlighted the vast opportunities in African markets, emphasizing the importance of recruiting skilled, bilingual talent with technical expertise.
Li Tao, a Party official at the Wuxi Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, noted the growing number of Jiangsu businesses expanding overseas. Employing international students who are proficient in Chinese, familiar with local markets, and equipped with professional knowledge can significantly reduce recruitment costs and enhance global competitiveness.

This initiative not only supports the overseas growth of Jiangsu enterprises but also offers international students immediate employment opportunities upon graduation. It strengthens ties between China and countries along the Belt and Road, showcasing Jiangsu's status as a hub for education and career advancement while boosting the global reputation of its universities.
