Nanjing shoots for the sky to attract global talent
Nanjing, a city with vibrant science and education, is embracing the brightest minds around the world.

In partnership with local universities, research institutions, and leading enterprises, the Nanjing government organized a recruitment week event at the close of 2024, offering more than 3,000 doctoral positions.
The response was overwhelming, with the receipt of close to 14,000 resumes from both domestic and international doctoral aspirants. Nearly 1,800 high-caliber individuals from over 30 countries flocked to Nanjing to partake in the recruitment week.
Central to the week's activities were 25 industry-specific routes, providing participants with a firsthand encounter with Nanjing's foremost technological innovation platforms, pioneering research entities, distinctive industrial hubs, and historical and cultural attractions. Approximately 970 doctoral candidates and high-level talent explored these routes.
One such participant from Imperial College London, majoring in chemical biology, took the specific route to the Nanjing Biotech and Pharmaceutical Valley. He shared his enthusiasm for exploring the innovative breakthroughs within Nanjing's burgeoning biopharmaceutical sector. Also, he voiced his contemplation of a future career trajectory that might see him establish roots in the city.
In recent years, Nanjing has introduced a range of initiatives to enhance its attractive employment packages. Notably, the city has promised to offer up to 100 million yuan ($13.64 million) to top-tier talent, solidifying its position as a beacon for global talent acquisition.
