Suzhou has hit a grand slam in the realm of postdoctoral development as it secured approval for 42 newly established Jiangsu Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Bases in 2024, according to the recent public notice list unveiled by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security.

This development elevates Suzhou's tally to 505 postdoctoral workstations at the provincial level or higher, further cementing its top rank nationwide.

Among the noteworthy additions is the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) Suzhou Research Institute. As HIT's sole comprehensive research institute in the Yangtze River Delta region, it focuses on cutting-edge research, such as aerospace, robotics, and new materials.

Jiangsu Kanghui New Material Technology Co is also a newcomer specializing in high-end functional films, functional plastics research, and industrialization. The company aims to tackle critical technological and industrialization hurdles in China's plastic film sector, ultimately fostering import substitution for premium products.
