Suzhou City University boosts international exchange with YES program, rural base

To implement initiatives for fostering youth exchanges with the United States and Europe, China's Ministry of Education established the Young Envoys Scholarship (YES), selecting top-tier short-term exchange projects nationwide.

Suzhou City University's 2024 Overseas Chinese Youth Summer Camp has been approved as a YES project. This program integrates the university's unique disciplines with local cultural resources, inviting experts in history, cultural heritage, and art to lead immersive activities, offering international students a platform to experience Chinese culture and the charm of Suzhou.

Additionally, the university's collaboration with Kaixiangong village in Wujiang district to establish an education base has been recognized as one of Jiangsu's 2024 exemplary social practice sites for international students. This base focuses on traditional Chinese agricultural civilization, rural culture, and modern rural development, highlighting Suzhou's achievements in rural vitalization and its iconic cultural landmarks.

In 2024, Suzhou City University welcomed 83 short-term international students, a 186 percent year-on-year increase. The university's International Cooperation and Exchange Office will enhance collaborations with international institutions to elevate the quality of education for international students, share Suzhou's stories, and amplify China's voice on the global stage.
