International students experience joy of Chinese New Year at Jiangsu Ocean University

The Jiangsu Ocean University hosted an immersive celebration for international students to experience the rich cultural traditions of Chinese New Year. Nearly 60 students from 29 countries along the Belt and Road gathered to enjoy the festive atmosphere and learn about Chinese customs.

The event featured renowned inheritors of traditional arts, including Zhang Tianming, a paper-cutting master, and Wang Xiaoming, a dough sculpture expert. They shared their skills with the students, offering hands-on lessons in paper-cutting and dough sculpture.

The highlight of the event was a vibrant performance, where international students showcased their talents with carefully choreographed dances and a medley of songs. The performances energized the crowd and marked the climax of the celebration.

Students also decorated the windows of their dormitories with paper cuts and enjoyed dumplings.

This event allowed students to deeply connect with China's New Year traditions and broaden their understanding of the country's rich cultural heritage.
