The China Region of 2025 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO), an annual informatics competition for secondary school students, concluded in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on May 18.

Hosted by the China Computer Federation (CCF) and organized by Jiangsu Xishan Senior High School, this year's edition gathered nearly 1,000 informatics competition coaches and contestants nationwide.

The competition featured globally solicited test questions covering algorithm design, graph theory, data structures, and information encoding and decoding. A total of 64 gold, 128 silver, and 193 bronze medals were awarded, highlighting Chinese youth's excellence in informatics and fostering innovation in Asia-Pacific information technology education collaboration.

To ensure everything went smoothly, Jiangsu Xishan Senior High School meticulously coordinated all aspects of the event from venue arrangement and technical equipment debugging to refining competition procedures.

Xia Leizhen, principal of Jiangsu Xishan Senior High School, shared his excitement at seeing young people's passion for computer science being ignited through this event. "We look forward to deepening cooperation with CCF and educational colleagues nationwide to create a more open learning ecosystem, guiding the younger generation to maintain humanistic warmth while pursuing technological breakthroughs," he further expressed.

"This year's event is the best yet in APIO's 19-year history," said Du Zide, Chairman of National Olympiad in Informatics.

Founded in 2007, APIO has expanded its influence over the course of nearly 20 years and become a pivotal platform for cultivating top-tier innovative talent across the Asia-Pacific region.
