Suzhou, an East China city with profound cultural background, opened an education museum on Sept 8. 

It is the first city-level museum in China, aiming to promote local education history and development, preserve important historical materials, and popularize educational knowledge among the public. 

Suzhou’s numerous century-old schools, generations of talented educators and promotion of compulsory, vocational and higher education make it ideally suited to become the home of the new museum.
