Nearly 20 international visitors from 11 countries, including the United States, Germany, Brazil, Russia, and Morocco, visited key transportation construction sites in Jiangsu province from June 26 to 27.
The group toured the Haimen-Taicang Yangtze River Tunnel and the expansion project of the Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway between Taicang and Changzhou.
Among the visitors were both international students and long-time residents of China. A Chilean student, who often watches construction-related videos online, shared his thoughts on social media after the visit: "We only toured for a couple of hours and were drenched in sweat, yet workers labor like this day after day, all to make this city more livable and life better for their fellow citizens. This is so China!"
In addition, the organizers will hold a visual exhibition in public spaces such as Nanjing Lukou Airport, where outstanding works created by the visitors will be displayed alongside visual artworks showcasing Jiangsu's major transportation projects.
