International students from Namibia, Pakistan, and other countries studying at Nantong Vocational University took part in a voluntary blood donation event on Aug 22.

Volunteers guided the students through the donation process and safety precautions in both Chinese and English, easing their concerns. A Namibian student was the first to step forward: "In my country, blood donation is also a way to help others. Today, I want to continue that spirit of giving here in China." A Pakistani student, despite some nervous trembling, extended his arm firmly: "I want to see how my blood can bring hope to others."

During the process, another Pakistani student learned he had AB blood type and said with excitement, "My blood can save lives in emergencies — that's really cool!" Nurses presented small gifts to the donors in recognition of their contributions.

The event was not only about blood donation but also about spreading the broader idea of donating blood, marrow, and organs. Organizers shared local stories about public welfare in Nantong, inspiring many participants. The Namibian student was deeply moved: "I will take this idea of giving the 'gift of life' back to my country, so more people will know that love can be passed on this way."
