The final round of the 2nd Jiangsu Province "Silk Road E-Commerce" Innovation Challenge for University Students was held on Nov 8 in Jiangbei New Area, Nanjing.
The competition aims to identify young e-commerce talent with global vision, innovative thinking, and hands-on skills, while fostering deeper integration between talent development and industry needs.
Since its launch on March 27, the event attracted 377 teams from 59 universities across the province. A total of 1,529 students from 50 countries and 357 instructors signed up for the competition. After the preliminary round and a repechage stage, 134 teams from 41 universities advanced to the provincial finals.
The finals featured three tracks, with the comprehensive skills track encouraging students to make use of AI to enhance core competencies in cross-border e-commerce, combining simulated operations with real-world enterprise scenarios.
The case study track guided participants to link academic research with real challenges in Jiangsu's cross-border e-commerce sector, cultivating the ability to identify real problems and address real needs.
The international student short-video track integrated cultural understanding into e-commerce practice, inviting international students to showcase Jiangsu's economic strengths and cultural features through video storytelling.
The judge panel consisted of senior scholars from universities like Nanjing University, Southeast University, and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, along with executives from leading cross-border e-commerce companies in Jiangsu.
Seven teams, including Nanjing University's Happy Ending, Nanjing Normal University's Smart Selectors Alliance, and Nanjing Audit University's Five Ha Selling Group, won the top prize. Thirteen teams received first prizes, 24 teams earned second prizes, and 82 teams were awarded third prizes.
