The Low-Altitude Traffic Collaborative Innovation Laboratory was recently inaugurated at Nantong University in Nantong, Jiangsu province.

Vice-President Shi Quan of NTU introduced the university's history and current growth. He said that the low-altitude economy, a strategic emerging industry, is becoming an important driver of high-quality development. Nantong's unique geographic advantages, situated by the Yangtze River and Yellow Sea, along with its strong industrial foundation, provide excellent conditions for developing the low-altitude economy.

Shi said that establishing the laboratory is a key university initiative aimed at supporting national strategies and local growth. He is optimistic that this open and shared innovation platform will gather diverse expertise to jointly tackle technical bottlenecks and industrial issues related to the low-altitude economy.

The Low-Altitude Traffic Collaborative Innovation Laboratory is jointly established by NTU, China Unicom Smart City Research Institute, and Beijing Zhiwangyilian Technology.

The laboratory will utilize NTU's strengths in fields such as intelligent transportation and information science, focusing on key areas including intelligent flight, autonomous navigation, airspace integration, intelligent management, communication perception, and operational safety. It is expected to develop into an innovative platform that integrates talent development, scientific research, and social services.
