The 2025 Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Enterprises Job Fair for International Students of Belt and Road Initiative Partner Countries was held on Nov 21 at Wuxi University, bringing together nearly 400 international students and 54 Jiangsu-based overseas Chinese enterprises.

The event strengthened the talent pipeline for companies expanding abroad while offering graduating students pathways to employment.

Afghan student Wahidullah Sangar from Jiangnan University said international students serve as cultural ambassadors and bridges along the Belt and Road, helping bring quality products from their home countries into China, and taking the advanced knowledge they gain in China back home.

This year marks the second time the event has been held, after last year's inaugural event proved a success. Participating companies released more than 700 overseas positions, ranging from sales, administration, translation, finance, foreign trade and HR to newly added R&D roles in machinery, electronics, software, new energy, automation and big data.

Students from Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, South America and Africa — from undergraduate to doctoral levels — attended from Jiangnan University, Wuxi University, Jiangsu University, Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute, Jiangsu University of Technology and other institutions. An online recruitment channel was also opened.

Wang Xiaohong, deputy general manager of Jiangsu JD-Link International Logistics, said that after more than a decade of developing logistics corridors in over 20 Belt and Road countries, the company is well aware of the need for talent who can navigate local languages, cultures and market conditions. She pledged to offer international recruits clear career pathways, strong training systems and competitive compensation packages.
