Students from the School of International Education at Jiangsu Second Normal University visited Lishui No 3 Primary School in Nanjing for an exchange program on Dec 10.

Focusing on the culture of written Chinese characters, the event aimed to promote deeper dialogue between educational perspectives from China and abroad. It also offered the students a closer look at how basic education is practiced in China, while enriching their understanding of the cultural and educational value embedded in Chinese characters.

The program began with classroom observation sessions, during which the international students were divided into groups to attend two model Chinese language lessons. They followed the classes attentively, taking notes on teaching techniques and classroom dynamics, and expressed their appreciation for the teachers' engaging methods and effective classroom management.

The visiting students also held in-depth discussions with the school's leadership and teaching staff. Topics included approaches to teaching Chinese characters, similarities and differences between Chinese and international education concepts, and ways to better communicate Chinese culture in an increasingly globalized world.
