Thirty international students from Nanjing Tech University gathered at the Nanjing Folklore Museum on Jan 31 to experience the unique charm of the city's intangible cultural heritage.

A heritage inheritor introduced the history, symbolism, and craftsmanship behind Qinhuai lanterns, one of Nanjing's most iconic traditions. With guidance from museum staff, the students then created their own lotus lanterns, symbols of harmony and good wishes.

The group also toured several exhibition areas of the museum. From the historic Gan Xi Residence, known for its well-preserved architecture, to galleries dedicated to Nanjing's intangible cultural heritage and traditional folk customs, the visit offered a vivid window into the city's past. A special exhibition on Chinese New Year traditions added a festive touch.
