A seven-day cultural study tour for teachers and students from Girona La Salle High School in Spain opened in Zhenjiang, East China's Jiangsu province, on March 23, giving the visiting group an immersive introduction to Chinese history, culture and education.
Over the following week, the Spanish students and teachers explored some of Zhenjiang's best-known landmarks, including Xijindu Ancient Street, Mi Fu Calligraphy Park, Beigu Mountain and Jinshan Temple, gaining a close-up look at the city's rich historical and cultural heritage.
In addition to sightseeing, the program featured a range of hands-on activities exploring traditional culture. The Spanish students tried Taiping clay whistle making, explored the craftsmanship of rubbing art, and experienced the expressive beauty of traditional Chinese painting.
Educational exchange was also a major part of the trip. The camp participants visited local secondary schools, including Chongshi Girls' Middle School and Zhenjiang First Foreign Language School, where they met face-to-face with Chinese students and shared their school life.
To deepen the exchange, organizers also arranged a football match, allowing students from both countries to build friendship on the pitch through sport and teamwork.
A teacher leading the Spanish delegation said through a week of immersive experiences, the students gained a more direct understanding of Chinese culture and planted the seeds of friendship that could help them become young bridges between Spain and China.
