Southeast University signed an agreement to establish the China-Indonesia College of Elite Engineers at Pelita Harapan University in Banten, Indonesia, on April 13.

During the signing ceremony, Southeast University, Pelita Harapan University, Nanjing Iron and Steel, and Kingrui New Energy also signed a memorandum of cooperation.

The partnership is aimed at meeting Indonesia's growing demand for engineering talent driven by the construction of the country's new capital city, energy transition, and industrial digitalization. The program will focus on key sectors such as intelligent manufacturing, green energy, and smart cities, aiming to enhance the technical expertise and innovation capabilities of local engineers.

The cooperation will also promote the local application of technological achievements and support industrial upgrading toward greener, smarter, and higher-end development, while further strengthening China-Indonesia industrial and trade ties.

Nanjing Iron and Steel and Kingrui New Energy will open their industrial bases to students, allowing them to participate directly in real-world engineering projects.

Southeast University has established a project-based talent cultivation model with more than 200 leading enterprises, creating a university-industry cooperation framework that emphasizes organized training, interdisciplinary integration, coordinated development, and practical industry scenarios.
