Southeast University in Nanjing, Jiangsu, and Newcastle University in the United Kingdom signed a memorandum of understanding on an elite engineering talent education program on April 30.

Under the agreement, the two universities will place engineering education innovation at the core of their collaboration. They plan to deepen reforms in teaching and learning, co-develop high-quality courses tailored to the needs of engineering talent, and enhance the student learning experience.

The partnership also aims to strengthen graduates' employability and long-term career development potential through more practice-oriented and internationally integrated training models.

In addition to curriculum and teaching reform, both sides will conduct in-depth exchanges on practical aspects of education management. This includes cross-border education operations, overseas campus governance, and other applied administrative practices.

Southeast University and Newcastle University have maintained a long-standing and productive partnership. Their academic strengths are highly complementary, providing a solid foundation for sustained cooperation. In recent years, the two universities have already collaborated in areas such as engineering research and development, academic exchanges, and talent cultivation.

The new program has garnered strong support from leading enterprises both in China and abroad. Chinese partners, including Nanjing Iron and Steel and Estun Automation, are committed to creating internship opportunities and developing platforms for applied education.

Meanwhile, overseas partners such as CCID UK and XCMG Europe have confirmed they will fully leverage their local industrial resources to provide students with training opportunities.
