International summer school brings students from 15 universities to CUMT

An international summer school jointly organized by the International Higher Education Alliance for Mining, Energy and Environment and the Jiangsu-UK World-Class University Consortium opened at the China University of Mining and Technology on June 22.
Running from June 22 to July 3, the program has attracted 31 students from 15 universities, including the University of Liverpool in the UK, RWTH Aachen University in Germany, AGH University of Krakow in Poland, the University of Wollongong in Australia, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Spain, and Irkutsk National Research Technical University in Russia.
The summer school features lectures delivered by Chinese and international scholars, as well as visits to advanced manufacturing enterprises, ecological conservation demonstration zones, and cultural heritage sites. The program is designed to enhance participants' academic knowledge while offering them firsthand experiences of Chinese culture.
Ye Jihong, vice-president of CUMT, said the international summer school, first launched in 2014, has grown into an important platform connecting different cultures and fostering exchanges and cooperation among universities worldwide.
She encouraged participants to make full use of the program's courses and cultural activities to deepen their expertise, broaden their global perspectives and strengthen mutual cultural understanding.
