More than 50 international students from countries including the United States and Malaysia gathered at Nanjing Tech University on June 28 for a day of cultural discovery.

The event started with visits to the university's history museum and the State Key Laboratory of Materials-Oriented Chemical Engineering. Participants explored the institution's development, educational philosophy and achievements in talent cultivation. They also had the opportunity to see the university's latest scientific research and technological innovations up close.

The journey then shifted from laboratories to cultural traditions. Under the guidance of instructors, they practiced the graceful movements of tai chi, learned the energetic routines of the hand lion dance and experienced the colorful ribbon dragon performance.

The cultural experience went beyond just sports. Students donned elegant hanfu, which is traditional Chinese clothing, and posed with folding fans and traditional swords. Some tried their hand at seal carving, while teams competed in pitch-pot, a centuries-old game that tested participants’ precision and coordination.
