Dozens of international students from the Overseas Education College of Jiangsu University recently took part in a field class at the Jiangsu Tea Expo Park in Zhenjiang.
The program featured a wide range of activities, including tea culture studies, traditional tea-making demonstrations, tea appreciation sessions, herbal sachet crafting, and a mobile classroom focused on cross-border e-commerce.
Guided by bilingual explanations from park staff and faculty, the students strolled through tea plantations, attended lectures on Chinese tea culture, observed the traditional pan-firing process, and learned to brew tea and make fragrant herbal sachets.
In the afternoon, participants explored the park independently, capturing videos and photographs to create digital content. The materials will be used for international outreach and cross-border marketing efforts.

The field class concluded with a lecture on strategies for promoting Chinese tea products in international markets. Working in groups, the students designed overseas marketing plans tailored to the characteristics and consumer preferences of their home countries. Drawing on their diverse cultural backgrounds and market insights, they proposed creative ways to promote Chinese tea to global audiences through cross-border e-commerce.
