The China-Egypt youth science and technology study camp, an event in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, has wrapped up in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province.
The event, co-organized by China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), Suez Canal University, Horus University, and Egyptian Chinese University, hosted a total of 47 Egyptian students and teachers in two phases at CUMT, where they explored China's modernization and cultural heritage.
The camp featured lectures on advanced technology and macroeconomics, showcasing China's solutions in infrastructure construction and socio-economic development, covering green transition, ecological conservation, and mega-projects.
Participants visited key industries in Xuzhou, including XCMG's Global Learning and Education Center, where they admired China's advanced manufacturing, and Xuzhou GCL Energy Technology, where they learned about innovations in clean energy.
They also had cultural experiences, including visits to the Xuzhou Museum and other historical sites, as well as hands-on activities like tie-dying and brocade-weaving. Students also took the Chinese Proficiency Test, which boosted their enthusiasm for learning the language.
A sophomore from Horus University expressed her fascination with China's culture and technology, saying she aimed to become a bridge between Chinese and Egyptian youth to understand each other in the future.
Another freshman from Egyptian Chinese University was inspired by China's modernization and the warmth of its people, saying this visit enhanced his resolve to contribute to exchanges between the two countries.
