Lianyungang Technical College, located in Lianyungang city of Jiangsu province, covers an area of 76.92 hectares. The College consists of nine schools and two teaching departments – School of Mechatronics Engineering, School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering, School of Public Management, School of Business, School of Information Engineering, School of Arts and Tourism, School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, School of Foreign Languages (School of International Communication and Cooperation), School of Further Education, Department of Basic Courses, and Department of Ideological and Political Education.
The College offers over 50 specialties in 12 fields of
studies, including manufacturing, civil engineering, electronic information,
biology and chemistry, environmental protection, agriculture and forestry,
finance and economics, public service, culture and education, arts and design,
traffic and transportation, and tourism, which forms a relatively sound
schooling system integrating the fields of industry, economy, art, agriculture,
management and so on.
Logistics Management and Chemical Pharmaceutical
Technology are national key construction majors. Architectural Engineering
Technology, Chemical Pharmaceutical Technology, CNC Technology and Application
and Computer Information Management are awarded as the featured specialties of
Jiangsu Province. Technology of Computer Application, Chemical Pharmaceutical
technology, and Architectural Engineering Technology are listed in provincial
key construction specialty clusters.
The College has two state-level
training bases, three province-level training bases, over 60 college-level
training bases and a national professional skill testing station, with the
teaching instruments and equipments worth more than 60 million yuan.
The
College attaches great importance to the combination of teaching and academic
research. Being committed to innovation and exploration, it has been actively
applying for projects at state, provincial and municipal levels and has made
remarkable achievements in science and technology cooperation and service. Since
2005, the College has undertaken five research projects at state level. "The
Reaction of Methyl and Cyanophenyl (Annual Output: 5 million tons) -- pilot test
technology of coupling and intensification" is supported by National Hi-tech
Research and Development Program (863 Program). The demonstration projects, like "SWHP Central Air Conditioning System in Lianyungang Technical College" and "1MW
PV Power Generating Systems", explore the application of renewable energy into
buildings and are supported by Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Housing and
Urban-Rural Development. The College has undertaken 18 research projects at
provincial level, 16 at municipal level and 166 at college level, receiving a
total amount of 40 million yuan for research fund. The College has also filed 20
patent applications, six of which have already been conferred. Currently, more
than 600 academic papers have been published in core journals, among which 70
are indexed by SCI and 10 by EI.
The College has received one provincial
prize and seven municipal prizes for Progress in Science and Technology. It
co-builds engineering research centers with famous universities in Jiangsu, like
Nanjing University, Nanjing University of Technology and Hohai University, which
will advance its scientific research to a higher level.
The College
actively carries out cooperation at home and abroad. It cooperates with the
governments of Donghai County, Funing County, and Guannan County and co-builts a
public training base with Lianyungang Human Resources and Social Security
Bureau. 3 engineering technology research centers are established by Nanjing
University, Nanjing University of Technology and Hohai University in the
college. The College has also been maintaining the cooperative relationship
with seven foreign universities, including Mokpo Technical College in Korea,
Halla University, Mokpo Industrial College, Saga Women's Junior College in
Japan, Gastronomicom International Culinary Institute of France. There are 40
exchange students annually. In addition, the College also has interschool
communication with universities in the United States, Canada, Germany,
Australia, Singapore and other developed countries.
