Founded more than 50 years ago in Lianyungang, a city at the eastern end of the New Eurasian Land Bridge, Jiangsu College of Finance & Accounting has more than 30,000 graduates and won a good reputation, and been dubbed as “the cradle of financial professionals in Jiangsu”.

In January 2015, the College was approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Government and registered at the Ministry of Education in April. In September, its nameplate was unveiled and began to recruit the first group of three-year higher vocational students, which marked a new era for its development.

As a college-level ordinary institute for high education, it is under the administration of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education.

There are five departments and 14 functional divisions in the college. It has 263 staff members, including 225 full-time teachers. A total of 67 teachers have senior academic titles and 70 teachers have both professional and academic titles.

Among the teachers, 105 have obtained master's degree, two have been selected as candidates for further development at provincial-level, and three have become leaders of discipline at Jiangsu Union Technical Institute.

In 2015, the College was approved by its administration department to enroll high school graduates in accounting, financial management and electronic commerce. There are also 11 five-year majors for higher vocational education, such as computerized accounting, accounting and auditing, financial management, computer application technology, logistics management, community management and service, electronic commerce, Business English, Korean, marketing, finance and insurance.
