University co-op with hi-tech company to set up engineering school

NARI Group, a high-tech enterprise in Nanjing, has signed an agreement to jointly establish a new School of Electrical & Automation Engineering with Nanjing Normal University (NNU) on Mar 3.
The new “NARI School” will be set up based on the original School of Electrical & Automation Engineering at NNU which currently boasts two provincial key laboratories.
NNU and NARI Group will cooperatively build the “NARI School” by revamping teaching facilities, organizing high level teaching staff, fostering innovative talents, conducting scientific research and launching academic exchanges, according to Hu Minqiang, dean of NNU.
“With an annual scientific research fund of more than 2 billion yuan, NARI Group can offer lots of research projects for students from NUU to improve their competence,” said Xi Guofu, president of NARI Group. “NARI School also serves as a platform for the swift transformation of joint development and research.”
“NARI Group will also set up a scholarship to award students, giving priority to outstanding graduates from NARI School,” added Xi.
