A cluster of intellectual property (IP) services is taking shape in the science and technology park of Nanjing University of Finance & Economics (NUFE) in Nanjing, Jiangsu province.

The Intellectual Property Office of Nanjing set up the pilot area for the development of IP services at the science park last April, and since then, over 10 IP service companies have registered in the area.

These companies provide a wide range of IP services such as patent agency, patent analysis and registration of IP, trademarks and domain names.

The government has proactively offered policy support and financial subsidies to service companies which settle in the science park. One- stop service is also provided for the companies’ convenience.

“It is our common goal for college and government to join hands in building a nation-level park of intellectual property service, which is now taking shape,” said Duan Jun, deputy director of the Science and Technology Bureau.
