Jiangsu University of Science and Technology (JUST) held a series of activities on March 15 to celebrate World Consumer Rights Day and increase students’ awareness of rights protection.
During the first activity, the students were invited to freely share their shopping experiences, ideas and complaints. Many sincere opinions and suggestions were received, as well as some interesting comments. For example, a student named Yang Fan from the School of Electronics and Information Technology wondered why there was no egg in the “fried egg with tomato” offered by the school canteen.
The students were also eager to test their knowledge on consumer protection by answering questions hidden inside balloons. After popping the balloons with darts, they challenged themselves to answer the questions inside, including tough head-scratchers about consumer rights regulations and interests protection law.
Some 20 students were even given the chance to take a short tour around the canteen kitchen to check on its level of hygiene and the quality of the ingredients.
Several students commented that the activities were very novel and fruitful, an edutainment to help enhance their knowledge.
