A campus card can bring a great deal of convenience to the daily life of China’s college students, enabling them to buy food in the canteen, purchase snacks at other stores, borrow books from the library, and take school buses.
But for students at Nanjing Xiaozhuang University in East China’s Jiangsu province, that’s old stuff, as campus services there have gone cardless and cashless.
Thanks to a mobile payment platform jointly developed by the university and Shenyang Poscard Information Technology Co, students from Xiaozhuang can access services without carrying around their campus cards!
“More than 8,000 students, more than half of the students in total, lost their campus cards last year,” said Xue Tongqi, director at the network and information management center of Xiaozhuang.
“It’s a loss for both the students and the school, which inspired us to step up developing the campus into a more cardless one,” Xue explained.
