The celebrations for Start of Autumn, the 13th solar term of the year which started on Aug 7, usually include gathering crops and eating dumplings, seasonal vegetables and fruit. 

Departing from tradition, residents of Yangzhou, in East China’s Jiangsu province, have decided to explore new ways of celebrating, like immersing themselves in a sea of books. 

Zhongshuge, an innovative bookshop which opened its Yangzhou branch in July, has been a major destination for locals. Adhering to the brand’s grand style, the bookstore also features elements unique to Yangzhou, such as the rounded interior design inspired by the numerous bridges dotted around the city.
