In Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, the numerous bookstores are always filled with people browsing, sitting, or standing in the aisles, and reading for pleasure. 

Ha Jiuru, president of the China Xinhua Bookstore Association, once depicted Yangzhou as a city with a vibrant reading atmosphere for its three types of frequent bookstore visitors: mothers with children, students groups, and gracefully-dressed young women. 

Niche places in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, represented by Zhongshuge bookstore, have become popular destinations for locals during the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 8.
