Intl curricula to promote Nanjing students' college-readiness

The Yuhuatai High School in Nanjing, Jiangsu province is to introduce a top-tier international education program to promote Chinese secondary school students’ college-readiness and help more of them realize their Ivy-League college dreams.
Wang Xiangbo, an expert of Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) and Advanced Placement (AP), said the Yuhuatai High School will join hands with the US-based California Crosspoint High School (CCHS). The latter was recognized as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2016, a US government program established to honor schools that have achieved high levels of student achievement or made significant improvements in closing the achievement gap among student subgroups.
Wang will be the honorary principal of the school and offer support on teaching management and international education resources.
According to him, the cooperation will be conceived with the fourth CCHS landing in China, closely after the previous ones in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Suzhou, another Jiangsu city.
Students studying at the Nanjing campus will have their information both registered in China and the US, and also have their curricula and exams carefully checked and approved by the CCHS headquarters, combining the best teaching resources and methods from the East and the West.
International professors with expertise and experience in providing a transformative education will visit the Nanjing campus and offer students a variety of specialized courses and club activities, an important sector in applying Ivy League colleges, which cover fields such as math, physics, chemistry and biology contests, artificial intelligence, aerospace engineering, psychology, business and finance, artistic design, speech and debate, culinary art, and intangible cultural heritages.
The US, UK, Canada and Australia-based programs which offer college-level curricula and exams to high school students are becoming increasingly popular in China. The municipal government of Nanjing has also expressed its determination to propel education internationalization to a new level.
