East China's Jiangsu province has led the way in creating an open and inviting climate for international students.

With global education becoming more influential in Jiangsu, more and more students are traveling from afar to seek academic, cultural and language immersion in the eastern Chinese province.

Donghai county, known as the hometown of crystal in northeastern Jiangsu, has encouraged an increasing number of international students to take a "bite" of cultural legacies such as calligraphy, paper-cutting and ink painting. They are mostly from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, including Turkmenistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea and Kazakhstan.

In southeastern Jiangsu's Wuxi city, the local Vocational Institute of Commerce has blended various intangible cultural heritages into regular courses and encourages international students to delve more into the arts.
