Some 400 experts, master hands and officials of vocational schools from across China gathered in Wuxi, Jiangsu province on Nov 7-8, focusing on the inheritance of traditional arts.

A total of 42 intangible cultural heritage projects were exhibited at the event, nine from the master hands and 33 from students, covering fields including clay figurine, lacquer art, embroidery, paper-cutting, tie-dye, bamboo weaving, wood carving, and block printing.

The participants shared their insights into different topics, such as the reinvigoration of traditional techniques, promotion of artisan spirit, the future of intangible cultural heritages at campus, and education and innovation of traditional arts.

Several vocational schools were branded as national demonstration bases of traditional skills and intangible cultural heritages.
