Road full of sports world champions

Nanjing Sport Institute paved a road with the footprints from 101 of its graduates -- all world champions – on Aug 28, to celebrate its educational achievements as well as the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The unveiling ceremony was witnessed by Wang Siyuan, deputy secretary-general of the Jiangsu provincial government, Guan Jun, a renowned calligrapher and president of the Chinese Calligraphy Academy and Zhu Chuangeng, Party secretary of the Nanjing Sport Institute.
Luo Xiaojuan, a gold medalist of the women's team fencing event in the 2012 London Olympic Games, left her footprints on the road. She promised to dedicate herself more to China's sports development and help her alma mater cultivate more award winners.
Her schoolmates also included Sun Zhian, the first badminton world champion born in Jiangsu and Sun Jinfang, a renowned women's volleyball player who has led the Chinese team to many world titles.
The school is the alma mater of 101 world sports games champions.
