This is my first time come to China, and I have never been to any other country as well. I took the double degree program, between Indonesia and China. My major is Hospitality. I have been living in China for more than a year. Before I come to China, what was in my mind is that Chinese people are rude, etc. But when I arrived here, the people already open for the foreigners, they are really welcome with us, and also the air condition is better than my country. Even though if I go to the public area and I could still find some Chinese people still have a bad habit especially for the public toilet. And a lot of Chinese people is too shy to talk English, I believe they can understand English but they just too shy to talk. That is why sometimes it is hard for us to communicate with them, because they are too shy to talk English.

I have travel to some city near Wuxi, like Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu Province, and Shanghai. The people do not have a lot of different habits with Wuxi people, they quite similar. And in Wuxi I have visited some of the recreation place like Nanchan Temple, Sanyang Plaza, Ling Shan Buddha, Huishan Ancient Town, LiHu Park, and a lot of malls. The shopping mall here is quite similar with the shopping mall in my country. The local people actually really welcome with us, my friends and I like to buy the street food, and the aunt and the uncle who sell the food are very welcome with us. They even teach us how to speak Mandarin in daily life. We learn a lot from them.

What I like from Chinese people are; they take all the things professional and so fast. They have a discipline work time. They are so smart. They have really private life. They focus with their own business. They do not bother each other. They really focused with their own life. That is why sometime you will think that the Chinese people a little bit careless with each other, but it is just simply because they do not want to bother others business. They mind their own business. And also the Chinese people are so fast in everything. Like for the example, the simple one, they walk so fast. They will not spend their time to do useless thing.

And for my life here in Wuxi, I am living in the international dormitory with other foreigners from different country. I enjoy it. And for my study, I learn a lot of theory classes here, like the management things of the hospitality industry. I do not really have a lot of classes, so I have a lot of leisure time to explore more about places here in Wuxi or visit other city near Wuxi. It is more like we learn and try to understand new culture, different from our country and having a lot more Chinese friends. I admit that Chinese people have a healthy lifestyle. They sleep on time, wake up in the morning, walk a lot, exercises a lot, even though they eat a lot of food. But their life cycle is balance. They are good at making the healthy life style. Most of the Chinese people will sleep around 9/10 p.m. and woke up at 5/6 a.m. in the morning. I could still find a lot of old Chinese people still working and they are completely healthy and still able to work hard. And I am sure it is because of their healthy and balance life. Chinese people like to walk and ride a bicycle. And one more thing that I like about China is they are cashless. They just need their phone to pay anything, literally everything. We can pay our transportation by phone, buy everything or go shopping and pay it just with our phone. And they have the online store called TaoBao, from the Alibaba Company. You can literally find everything you want to buy at Taobao. And most of the things are cheap. And they are fast respond. Everything is easy here. You can almost do everything just using your phone. They have a lot of application to provide everything that you need. It makes our life easier and simpler. They have a lot of public transportation choices, like bus, subway, online taxi, or you can just ride a bicycle. It really helps us as a foreigner to live here. The development is really fast here, especially about the technology.

And last but not least, I can feel the 4 seasons. Because in my country, Indonesia, we do not have 4 seasons, we only have 2 seasons. But here in China, we are able to experience 4 seasons. And last year we experienced the winter for the first time, I really love it. I love autumn and winter.
